Gated communities: Ideal access control for gated communities. Mobiles can be added or deleted as necessary and the unit can be set to open mode allowing anyone who knows the number in for BBQ's. Once over set back to secure mode only allowing known callers access.

Open Access: allowing anyone who knows the access number could be allowed to enter, the number given to both residents and visitors of the community or business.

This means anyone who knows the number can operate the gate/barrier. Should at a later date it is decided that too many people have the number, simply change the SIM card and then re-issue the new phone number.

Caller ID Access: the unit set to secure mode means only numbers  programmed the unit can operate it. If a number is withheld or unknown to the unit it is completely ignored.

How do you set it up

After connecting the system to your gate and inserting the SIM card from your mobile operator, you simply SMS txt the password to the gate controller from the mobile you want to allow access.

Once this is done, to open the gate all you need to do is call the gate. The gate will not answer the call but will take the number from the caller ID and match it to its database of allowed numbers. If it matches then the system will hang up the call and open the gates.

Ideal for gates on the highway where regulation require that if vehicles are to wait more than 9 seconds prior to entry onto a premises meaning gates have to be set back to prevent an accident. Avoid this by being able to have the gates open well before arriving at the property.

Let workmen in and out by remote control. Don't issue key fobs to workers who forget to give them back or loose them. Simply open the gates as they arrive from anywhere in the world.

Save money on purchasing extra key fobs, use a mobile.

System is secure in that 1) anyone wanting access to your premises needs the phone number of the gate 2) should you loose a mobile instead of replacing all or one of the key fobs then paying an engineer to re-program your radio receiver to the new fobs just simply remove the SIM card and replace with another at £5 each then put the new number in the mobile phones. Security is maintained in that only chosen people have the new number.

How does it work?

The gsm opener incorporates a professional industrial grade GSM engine that receives calls at its SIM number, as any ordinary GSM phone. You need to use any operator that operates in the 900/1800 Mhz band, that is the standard in Europe and most parts of the world Just to give an example, if your SIM has a phone number 07888 6543211, that is the number you have to call to open the gate. The GSM opener has a memory where you will store the numbers of people enabled to open your gate (up to 500) When the GSM opener receives a call, it will check the calling number and if the number is in the list you have prepared it will reject the call and open the gate.

Does it work with any electric gate?

Yes. All electric gates have a button that is used to open them. The gsm opener has a relay whose contact has to be connected to the opening button. Actually it pushes the button in your place.

Does it cost me anything to open my gate?

The gsm opener doesn't answer the call, it simply checks the caller ID. Your network must send the caller ID otherwise the unit won't work. Usually operators don't charge until you answer the call, so it won't cost you anything to open the gate with the gsm opener. Of course you need to have an active SIM inside it, and this may have a monthly fee regardless of the calls. Check your local operators for these details.

What is the maximum working distance?

The gsm opener doesn't have limitations like a normal remote control. Using a mobile phone you can open from very far away, even from another city! It is really convenient to arrive in front of your house when the gate is already open, without having to wait in the middle of the road.

How can I enable different phone numbers to open my gate?

To store a number, you simply send an SMS, that starts with a password, to the gsm opener, indicating the phone number to enable, and its position in the list. Numbers are stored in the unit,s memory and not on the SIM. This prevents somebody from removing the SIM to copy all the numbers into a mobile phone. Only the one who knows the password can insert or delete enabled phone numbers. For faster operation you can order from us a special Active RS232 cable to connect the unit to your PC and input numbers.

How many different phones can open my gate?

The gsm opener accepts up to 500 full telephone numbers.

It is also possible to open the gate to any caller who has the number, although we don't recommend this option changing the number should it get into the wrong hands is as simple as changing the SIM card and re-issuing the new phone number.

What else do I need besides the gsm opener?

You need only a valid SIM card & a 12v power supply (many gate control boards will have this built in). Install the gsm opener, insert SIM, program enabled numbers and you are ready to go.
