Terms & conditions of sale
 
 
All sales are subject to the following trading terms - These terms & conditions do not affect the consumers' statutory rights.
 
We guarantee that the goods that we supply will be to the correct specification as advertised, however, we are unable to guarantee precise compatibility or suitability. It is the responsibilty of the customer to check this prior to ordering. We try to ensure that all information provided is as accurate as possible but we cannot be held responsible for any typographical errors in our advertising on our website.
 
We reserve the right to accept or reject any order for any reason whatsoever. No order will be considered binding unless & until it is accepted by us.
 
All prices are quoted in £ sterling.
 
Payment terms are cash, cheque (subject to clearance), credit or debit card.
 
Title of the goods remains with Electric Gates UK until payment has been made in full.
 
Free delivery is quoted for UK mainland addresses only. For delivery other than mainland UK , please contact us for an accurate quotation.
 
We will give you an estimated date of dispatch & delivery for your order. If these dates cannot be met for whatever reason, we will try to keep you informed of any delays & when you can expect to take delivery of your order. Whilst we make every effort to keep to the stated delivery times, we cannot be held liable for any costs incurred as a result of failure to meet estimated delivery dates & times.
 
Any damages or shortages to your delivery must be notified to us within 7 days of delivery without exception. Provided that this notice is given, we will collect, replace, repair or refund the cost of the goods free of charge at our discretion.
 
All goods are offered subject to stocks & availability. If for any reason they are unavailable, we will try to offer suitable alternative product of at least the same value, Otherwise we reserve the right to cancel the contract & offer a full refund.
 
IMPORTANT: Distance selling regulations.
 
Under the consumer protection "Distance selling regulations 2000", You have the right to cancel a contract within 7 days- starting from the day after you receive your order (a cooling off period). You have the right to cancel, without any reason without penalty.
 
Item's marked as "*Special order*" are not stock items & are ordered directly from the manufacturer upon customer order placement & as such are not  covered by the distance selling regulations, therefore we recommend that all care is taken to order the correct item as refunds cannot be given in this respect.
 
If you wish to cancel a contract, please email or write to us, stating your full details, invoice No & cancellation instructions.
To cancel a contract, we must receive written confirmation within the 7 day cooling off period (telephone calls will not be accepted as notification) without exception.
 
*NOTE* As from 13th June 2014 any purchases made after this date are now covered by the consumer contracts regulations which extends the cooling off period to 14 days- starting from the day after you receive your order. All cancellation policies still apply.
 
Once you have cancelled the contract, you have a "legal duty of care" to take good care of the goods.
You must return the goods to us at your expense to our address below.
 
If it is more convenient, we can arrange collection by our couriers; with any costs incurred deducted from your final refund. We will refund you the full amount paid for the goods, less any costs incurred, within 30 days of the receipt of notice of cancellation, provided that the goods have been returned to us in good condition as stated below.
 
Any goods returned to us in anything other than the condition that they were sent (new, unmarked & with all original packaging) will be returned to you & a refund will be refused without exception.
 
PRIVACY STATEMENT:
 
We are committed to safeguarding the privacy of our customers & their details, as such we will only use any information collected about you lawfully & in accordance with the "Data Protection Act 1998".
 
The only information that we collect is neccassary for the processing/verifying of your order & delivery of your goods, This includes name, address, telephone Numbers & email address. Credit/debit card details are not stored but destroyed for security purposes.
 
We will not send you any unsolicited e-mails.
 
We will not give, sell or swap your details with any third party companies.
